Hunt Story
I started seeing deer within 5 minutes of sitting down. A small 8-point was at the feeder early followed by another smaller buck. They were feeding when I noticed them raise their heads and look toward a small hardwood head. I turned to watch a couple of does cross a shooting lane to my east. When I turned back around to check on the bucks, I noticed that there were three bucks under the feeder. I grabbed my binoculars and watched this considerably bigger buck feed for a few seconds, before picking up my rifle. I settled in for the shot, placed the crosshairs on his shoulder and fired. He fell in his tracks. I continued to sit for a few minutes before going to look at him. After looking at him, I got back in my stand and sat for a while. I saw over the course of the morning between 20 to 25 deer, with 16 of them being bucks. I also passed on another buck, as not to tag out to early, with the rut coming after Thanksgiving.
