Hunt Story
My dad and I were hunting a 15-acre tract of land we have in Morgan County. I picked a box stand overlooking a food plot we planted in October bordered by some white oaks that were dropping. My dad was hunting the other side of the property. There was lots of fresh buck sign in the area. I had not seen anything till just before dark when this big buck came running out of the thick pines and into the hardwoods. I quickly put the crosshairs on him and shot. I thought I heard him crash, but I was not sure. We waited till it got dark and went to look for him. We found the blood trail and tracked him about thirty yards. I was so thrilled to see those horns sticking up, he was bigger than I thought! I hit him a little far back, but my Ruger .308 did the job. It was my best buck ever!
