Hunt Story
I have been hunting this deer for three years and finally was able to get a shot. The buck came in chasing a doe past my stand, but I wasn't able to get a shot. Both deer went into my food plot and ate for about 45 minutes until the buck chased the doe back toward me. The deer was quartering toward me, and I made a good shot at 30 yards with my crossbow. The buck ran about 100 yards before laying down. I gave the deer around 2 hours before the recovery, however during that time the neighbor's dogs jumped the deer and he ran into a narrow strip of woods. I lost the blood trail and called a tracking dog to come the next morning. We recovered the deer about 1,000 yards from where I shot it.
