Hunt Story
I have been watching this deer for two years. A month ago, he had been coming to the food source every day just 5-10 minutes before or after dark, during the night. Then, he disappeared for the last few weeks. He reappeared today, mid-morning pushing a doe. I decided today was the day. I went to the stand around 4:00 p.m.; there were already does around the food source. I decided to wait it out. I felt he was nearby. He came in, went straight across the food source, then I used the grunt and grunted him back for the shot! Mr. Jock, my hunting buddy, actually grunted him back around to us. I was shaking. I had missed a big hog that morning. I felt that my gun was off, so I had worked on sighting it in earlier that afternoon. I was still not confident. Mr. Jock, said - "Here use mine!" That made my day, AND it paid off! I made the perfect shot right above the shoulder. He was down! Two other hunters had been watching him also across the branch through the woods around 200 yards away. They had to come see him for how big he was for this area. We shared pictures and admired him. I named him, this year, Zeus, and I am proud to say, "I got him!"
