Hunt Story
My son and I were hunting on separate sides of the tract, and he was able to harvest a mature doe at about 4:30 p.m. He cut his hunt short and collected his harvest while I continued to watch the food plot. Shortly after my son’s harvest I witnessed two small doe enter the food plot with a small spike in trail. After watching the doe and spike run back and forth through the food plot, I heard in the brush to my right the grunting of a mature buck. At the same time the doe and spike turned as the 9-point entered the plot. Upon entering the plot the 9-point chased off the smaller buck and took up chase of the doe. After bringing the doe back full circle back into the plot, I took my shot and harvested the beautiful Troup County buck.
