Hunt Story
I was fasting for the Sabbath and had a waking vision of seeing two bucks, one for sure was an 8-point, but I clearly remember being uncertain if it was a shooter. Got in my stand and around 8:30; he came but was 50 yards away for some 15 minutes feeding and never presented a shot I felt good about taking, and indeed I wondered it if was a shooter by my P&Y standards. As it was walking away, I finally determined I knew this deer and was indeed a shooter, but I no longer had a shot. Shortly thereafter came the other smaller buck who fed right under me; all of this I captured on video. That afternoon I felt an uncontrollable urge to get back to my stand earlier than normal for the evening hunt and did so, being set in my stand by 5 pm; not 15 minutes later here he came and presented me with an easy 15-yard broadside shot as though he was posing for the camera and I got it all on video; perfect double lung pass through. He went about a 100 yards and expired. Fifteen years ago was my last Truck-Buck entry that happened nearly the same way.
