Hunt Story
My wife and I own approximately 2,000 acres in Taylor County. We manage it for wildlife and joined with NRCS to restore our longleaf pines and protect the gopher turtle population. On January 8, 2016 my wife (Lisa) and myself woke up about 6:30 a.m. thinking about going hunting, but it was foggy and drizzling rain. We decided to go and sit a small food plot behind our house. The stand was large enough for both of us with a roof. About 8 am, this very nice 6-pointer came into the food plot. We scoped and could not see any brow tines, but what a deer! We try to cull anything without brow tines. I shot and he went down.
