Hunt Story
Harris is one of two sets of twins, he has a twin sister and two younger identical sisters who are 4. I am his grandfather (Pop Pop). Pam and I raised two wonderful non-hunting daughters, so it has been such a joy taking Harris hunting. All four of our grandchildren love the outdoors, but Harris has that passion for it that makes my heart full. This was our 5th hunt this year, and what an evening it was. Maybe our good luck charm was that he wanted to take a GON to the stand instead of his ipad. (No matter how many squirrels, birds etc. you see, it is hard for 6-year-olds to sit still for 2.5 hours). He can not read all the words yet , but he loves looking at the pictures! Anyway, about sunset, some deer started coming into the food plot. After about 10 minutes this 8-point showed up. Harris made a perfect shot. After a short 50-yard blood trail we recovered him. His love of the outdoors is enough for me, but this buck was icing on the cake. He had a lot to tell in kindergarten last Monday. Mark 'Pop Pop' Williams, former DNR Commissioner
