Hunt Story

It was opening day, September 11th. The temperature was in the mid 70s. It was clear with very little wind. I was covered up in deer all afternoon but I knew that this buck was in the area. I had months of trail camera photos from this deer. Sometime around 7:00, I spotted this deer funneling down the ridge line looking for acorns and checking his scrapes. As he came down the ridge I went ahead and grabbed my bow and began to range find him. I had this deer at 6 yards for 20ish minutes watching him feed. After getting a good look and age guess on this deer I decided to harvest him. I came to full draw when he was at 19 yards and took my shot. I watched the arrow zip right in behind the shoulder and out the other side. He ran about 20 yards and crashed. The excitement was unglued and I was pumped.
