Hunt Story
I got in the stand about 6:15 that morning. At about 6:40 I saw two deer in the field in front of me. A high rack 7 or 8pt cruised across in front on me and a doe was standing along the edge. He went on across the field and into the woods. The doe mingled along the edge and her two yearlings came out and they shortly disappeared back into the woods. At about 7:25, 200 yards out another small 6pt came out and sniffed his way across the broom straw field. At 7:35, a big doe came out of the woods into a small foodplot and picked a little bit then another a minute behind her. They started across the foodplot and a minute behind them he steps out and starts down the edge of the foodplot. I shot him at 120 yards and he disappeared back into the woods. The 2 does stood there and watched him run off. They stomped and then went back in the woods in the direction he did. I sat there another 25 minutes watching my weather app and decided to get down because it was about to start raining. As soon as I hit the ground it started sprinkling. I made my way across the field to where he went in the woods and found some blood. I didn’t go far and come see him just 50 yards inside the woods.
