Hunt Story
Me and my dad were sitting in a box stand that overlooks a hay field and a gas pipeline. Whenever we sit here we almost always see deer. We had high hopes of seeing good deer movement due to cool temps and the fact that it was November 11, but the morning started out slow with us only seeing a bobcat and a spike. That all changed a little after 9:00 when this guy stepped out on the gas line. I lined up the crosshairs and squeezed the trigger........BOOOOM! A clean miss! I felt sick, but my dad said we would give him a few minutes to see if he might come back out before we checked to make sure I had missed. Fortunately the wait was only about 2 minutes until he stepped out again! This time, when I lined up the crosshairs and squeezed off the shot, he stumbled and made a mad dash across the gas line into the woods. When we found him he had only gone about 10 yards into the woods due to a heart/lung shot.
