Hunt Story

We have followed this deer for three years. We think he spent most of his time near or on our small farm. Over the last few weeks different cameras on the farm caught him in daylight in the evenings, but not consistent enough to pattern him and track him down in one spot. I decided to sit overlooking a .25-acre food plot with oak trees in the area and thick cover adjacent. He was seen on camera the most in this area of the farm throughout most of the year, so I figured odds were best to catch him in this spot. Well, I got lucky as he stepped out to feed with about 30 minutes left of shooting light. He was the fifth deer that showed up that afternoon. I managed to get a little video of him sparring with a spike before I took the shot. After the shot he ran about 75 yards or so, heard him crash.
