I was sitting in my stand which overlooks a food source of acorns and feeder in the area. At about 9:48 I caught movement just below a scrape that was close by. I focused on the trail leading to the scrape and an 8-pointer came up the trail and stopped and started working the scrape. I had to wait for him to clear some trees between my stand and the scrape, as he left he came up the trail traveling parallel to my stand and stopped he then turned as if he was spooked by something and came across an opening in front of me. I raised the gun and placed the crosshairs on his shoulder and waited till he cleared some small saplings to get a good shot. I fired the shot and watched him run down in a small bottom. I waited for quite some time then got down to track him. I found him just over two small ditches about 50 yards in the bottom.
