Hunt Story

I woke up at 4:45 a.m. and left to go hunting with my brother. Arrived at his house at 6 a.m. and left at 6:30 a.m. We were running late and arrive at the hunting land around 7 a.m. where we met up with a friend. I started to unload the hunting cart but was talked out of it, so I walked to my stand site. As I made my way to my stand on the cart path, I noticed a doe to the right of the path feeding on acorns, so I crouched down in the path. I noticed she was looking back but didn't see anything behind her. As she fed along a ridge, she turned and saw me. She raised her tail and turned around to run from where she came. I then noticed another deer to my left and saw it was a buck. He turned around and stopped. I then raised my gun to get a shot. He was quartering away from me, and I had a fallen tree between us. There was an opening under the tree where I had a clear shot. I made the shot and the buck bolted. I saw him nose to the ground. He ran some 50 yards and fell in a small creek at the bottom of the ridge.
