Hunt Story

My dad took me and my sister hunting. I sat by myself and my dad and sister sat together. We all were not too far from each other. I saw a much larger buck than the one I shot first, but it was too far to shoot with my dad's 12 gauge. Around 5:00 p.m. it started getting dark when I saw this buck heading my way. At first I wasn't going to shoot it, but the closer it got the bigger he got. When he got to what I thought was about 30 yards, I raised my gun and he stopped and looked dead at me. I did not want to take a shot until he got broadside. He turned and I thought he was fixing to run, so I made a fast shot at his shoulder. The buck ran off with his tail up. I thought I had missed. When I showed my dad where the deer was when I shot, I learned that it was around 15 yards from me not 30 yards. My dad said we would return in the morning because he thought there was no way that I missed it. The next morning after it got good and light outside we found the buck just over the hill. This is my biggest buck I have ever shot.
