SECOND DAY OF THE CEDAR CREEK WMA HUNT AND HAD NOT SEEN ANYTHING EXCEPT A FOX EARLY THAT MORNING. I WAS PLANNING ON HUNTING ALL MORNING AND EVENING BUT DID NOT SEE ANYTHING EARLY AND WAS ABOUT TO COME DOWN. THIS BUCK CAME RUNNING OUT AT A GREAT DISTANCE FROM ME AND I COULD NOT GET HIM IN THE SCOPE. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT HE WOULD DO NEXT. HE TURNED AND CAME TOWARDS THE BUCK BOMB DOW IN ESTROUS THAT I HAD PUT OUT EARLY THAT MORNING. HE THEN SPOOKED AND RAN INTO THE EDGE OF A THICKET ABOUT 75/85 YARDS AWAY AND NEVER STOPPED. I TOOK THAT SHOT WITH HIM QUARTERING AWAY! MY NEPHEW CALLED AND ASK IF I HAD SHOT AND I SAID YES BUT DID NOT FEEL TOO GOOD ABOUT IT. I TOLD HIM I MAY NEED SOME HELP. I FOUND HIM IN THE THICKET 10-20 YARDS FROM WHERE I SHOT HIM. I HAD SOME FELLOW HUNTERS IN CAMP NEAR US THAT HELP ME GET IT OUT OF THE WOODS. THANKS TO MY NEPHEW AND THOSE GUYS FOR THE HELP!
