Hunt Story
Got in the stand about 3:45 that afternoon. About 4:15 the same button head I see everyday came out and started eating acorns. Then at 5:15 a doe came out of the thicket to my right. She kept checking behind her like something was after her. So I grunted a couple times. At 5:30 I hit my rattling horns. At 5:40 there he was coming out of the thicket. I recognized him right away from my trail-cam pictures back on October 18. He was the one I was after. Heart racing, I pulled my gun up and got a good lung shot on him. He ran about 15-20 yards and dropped. Waited about 30 minutes before I got down, then headed over to recover him. He looked even bigger in person than he did on camera. Very blessed to have the opportunity on this gorgeous buck.
