Hunt Story
This buck had been on camera several times in the area. Elli killed her first deer the afternoon before, a large doe. She passed on a young 8-point that evening. She wanted to go again the following morning to try and kill her first buck. We saw several deer that morning and at 7:20 a.m. a doe came out of the woods into the food plot. This buck followed right behind her. She shot him right behind the left shoulder. The buck turned and looked around and I thought for a split second that she had missed. He took two steps forward and toppled over. My hands were shaking so much worse holding the binoculars than if I would have had the rifle. She even said that she felt me shaking from my side of the tower. I still don’t know how it feels to kill a really big buck, but I imagine it feels 1/10 as good as being with her when she did.
