Hunt Story

My daddy decided late in the day that he wanted to take me hunting. He had taken my brother in the morning and brother had passed up two does and a spike. Since the deer were coming into the food plot every morning and afternoon, daddy said it would be a good time to go. I had made up my mind that if that spike walked out I wanted to shoot it. We were sitting in the stand playing a game of connect four on daddy’s phone when he said don’t move, three does were watching us. Well it wasn’t long before they took off blowing at us. Since the deer were starting to move and it was getting late, daddy got me and my gun set up ready to shoot in case those those does came back out. After only a couple of minutes daddy said get ready we got a nice buck coming out. I started shaking before I even saw the deer. I finally did see it as it stopped to offer a shot. Daddy pulled the hammer back on my 30-30 and asked if I was on him. I said yes and he took off my safety. I got the buck in my scope and pulled the trigger. I was too excited to see where the deer ran off to. Daddy said give him a few minutes and we’ll go look for blood. We found blood and it started pouring rain as soon as we found a good blood trail. Daddy started walking to where he last saw the deer and there he was. He only ran about 70 yards.
