Hunt Story
Had prior trail-camera pics of this buck and noticed he had a tumor on his right side. Saw the buck the last week of November and noticed he looked gaunt. I saw him a week later and noticed the tumor was a third again larger. Decided if I had a shot, would put him out of his misery. On December 6, I rattled him into range at 27 yards and made a clean heart shot. He ran 15 yards and within thirty seconds, he expired. This deer is not a "bragging" buck, but as hunters, we have an ethical obligation to quickly ending any deers suffering. The tumor showed no signs of injury and I suspect it could possibly be malignant.
