Hunt Story

I start this off by saying last year on this same day I saw this buck, so I knew deep down inside that I needed to be in the woods on this afternoon. I was hunting a river bottom field with my ground box sitting up close to the river but facing away from it. I have about 250 yards to my left, then 100 yards to my front and 350 yards to my right. Around 1740 hours I noticed a body to my left at about 250 yards away. I pulled out my binocs and glassed him and saw that it was him, and he was coming my way with noise on the ground. I got my gun in position and just waited until he was about 60 yards to my front and squeezed the trigger. Once seeing him fall I looked to the right and noticed a doe just standing and watching, so this man had one thing on his mind that evening. I made a promise to myself several years back that my next buck that I take I will have to have him mounted, so it's really made me look before thinking about taking one.
