Hunt Story

'Magical evening in the woods. Cameras showed that bucks were coming out of velvet every day, and on this hunt, they showed the typical surge in activity that coincides with velvet rubbing. A handful of younger bucks passed the stand on their way to the irrigated crop fields. This deer was last in line, emerging from the swamp edge and slowly making his way up the ridge towards the open field. He was comfortably upwind when he stopped at 18 yards. Distracted by the other younger bucks, he quartered slightly while nudging a younger buck away. The fixed four-blade zipped through. He bolted for the swamp and tumbled in sight at 90 yards. Humbled again by the blessing of the experience and the brotherhood of friends that share in it.
