Hunt Story

Magical late summer evening. He was up from his swampy day-bed area with plenty of light remaining, but had 350 plus yards cover to get to the stand site. Does were already actively feeding at the site. As he approached the food plot and stand site, he made a loop east in the thick border cover in a apparent effort to scent-check the food plot before stepping into view. He emerged from the cover into the plot 100-or-so yards east of stand and locked his gaze on the five does actively feeding near the stand. It was the confirmation he needed, and he began his steady approach in full view. When he closed the distance to 15 yards, he was broadside. Sent the arrow. He ran 80 or so yards, stopped, and toppled over. Grateful to God for the blessings of His creation, and humbled by the generosity, camaraderie, and friendships that make this possible.
