Hunt Story
Thanksgiving morning was a cool, beautiful morning to be in the woods. I hunted in an area where I had quite a few trail-camera pictures of good deer, including the one I killed. I had great action almost all morning, seeing 15+ does and a few small bucks chasing them around. Then after about 9:00 I didn't see anything and was considering getting down to go eat some turkey with my family, when, at almost exactly 10:00, I heard something running behind me so I stood and grabbed my bow and immediately saw it was a shooter. I had one gap to shoot through on the side he was coming from and he was running so I drew and "bah'd" at him really loud when he was about 5 feet from the gap. He never completely stopped, but slowed enough for me to make the shot. I then proceeded to practically hyperventilate in the tree knowing that this was my biggest buck to date. Let's just say, I was maybe a little extra thankful this Thanksgiving! All glory to God, He is good!!
