Hunt Story

I checked the camera an hour before I went to the stand and had the buck on camera the night before around 1 in the morning. Around 5 o’clock I grunted, and around 5:20 I heard a slight noise behind me (down wind) I just assumed it was a squirrel, slowly turning around to find him standing 10 yards. He saw me soon as I saw him and bolted down the road in a some planted pines. I stood up grabbing the bow and hit the grunt call softly. I just knew he was gone. A few moments went by and he came out another shooting lane at 45 yards. I knew it was now or never. He gave me just enough time before stepping out in my shooting lane to get my bow drawn back. I knew the shot was a little forward, so I backed out and gave him 2 hours before heading back in for the recovery.
