Hunt Story
Got up late about 6:45. Got dressed and headed down to my stand, it was about 7 a.m. by the time I got to it. I noticed a white tail flicker down the hill from me before I could get in my stand, so I stood still. Then I realized there were two more does right in front of me coming toward me so I stayed still. They came almost to me and started feeding on acorns, they never saw me or caught wind of me so I knew I was in good shape by the time they moved off. I finally got climbed up in my stand, and by then I only had to wait about an hour. Another doe came in and went straight across in front of me, not long after that the 8-point buck came trailing behind. He was grunting as he pursued her, and I made the shot as soon as he made a clearing, he didn't even go one more step. Thank you God, and thank you to my wife for putting up with me hunting all the time!
