Hunt Story

I got in the stand at about 7 a.m. I was standing for about 30 minutes because the sun was already up and it was hard to see and hear anything in that spot. I decided to sit down for a minute. Just when I sat down, two bucks came running right behind my stand. They were too far in the thicket to get a shot on one of them by the time I got stood up. I was wondering what spooked them when I heard a deer grunting coming from the direction they ran from. The deer was right on me. I drew back and he trotted to the other side of the tree I was in. So, I had to readjust. I got drawn back again and let 'er fly. I made a good shot at ten yards at 7:45 a.m. I got down and didn’t have good blood. So, I backed out and went and got my dog, Gus. We came back and tracked him for 200-yards and finally recovered him at about 12:00 p.m. Thank you God for the great deer and meat!
