Decided to hunt creek bottom this afternoon to just hunt something different. Had to take a chair and my gillie suit to hunt on the ground. I have a protein block at a trail intersection of trails where I get a lot of trail camera pics of different bucks and he was in there earlier this season. About 5:45 a broken main beam buck started coming to the block from the east. About 5 minutes later I hear one walking down a trail on the other side of the creek from the west. It’s thick and could not see him then he walked on down a little further into an opening I had my gun ready because I only had a couple openings to shoot. He was looking at the other buck at the block he had no idea I was around. I scoped his head and to my surprise it was him I pulled down to the base of the neck and shot he dropped in his tracks it was my target buck. Had several pics from velvet to hard horn of him this season.
