Hunt Story

Thanksgiving eve me, my husband and grandson planned our hunts for our morning hunt. We saw this big eight point on camera that night and we have been watching him for over a month. He was coming into the food plot and staying a lot longer than usual eating and hanging out with does. Thanksgiving morning, perfect weather, beautiful day. We all head out early to our separate deer stands and I was hoping my husband, Will, was right when he said ol' big boy is gonna let his guard down and you’ll get him. Around 8:30, I texted Will and told him that I had been seeing a lot of deer but not the one I was after and I was going to leave my stand at 9:00 to start Thanksgiving dinner. Well, about 9:08 I see a doe come out of the back woods and then another and I thought, well, it’s probably just another doe. I looked through my binoculars and I knew immediately who he was! I made a good shot and tracked him about 35-50 yards into the woods from where I found the first blood where he was standing in the field. I was ecstatic! Perfect beginning to a perfect day!
