Hunt Story
On the morning of November 8, my Dad and I hunted a box stand on a clearcut in the rain. We saw a nice 8-point right at daylight but couldn't get a shot. At 9:15 we looked back and saw a good buck standing at a tree that my dad hung a scent drag on when we came in. The buck was heading away from us. My dad hit his rattling horns and the buck immediately turned and came to us. He walked behind the stand and stopped at 40 yards, and I was able to make a shot. The buck ran into the cutover. After waiting about 45 minutes, we were able to find the buck. He went about 100 yards. This was my very first deer.
