Hunt Story
Still-hunted in to narrow oak ridge between select cut pines and thick creek bottom at 11 a.m. after other hunters were leaving the woods. Reached tree my stand was on and deer slipped out of bottom before I stepped on stand. Watched deer make a scrape and hit licking branch behind a white oak tree, no shot. Propped gun on tree over stand and squeezed shot after buck cleared white oak beside the scrape. Buck dropped in tracks. Quickest deer hunt of my life.
