Had been hunting this deer all season, having many trail-cam pics of him going back to July while in velvet. Had a nice 8-point with seven does and yearlings all around for about an hour. Needed to take a doe, but felt confident the big boy would step out any minute so decided to wait. Finally saw another approaching from within a thicket but couldn't see horns. Few minutes later he finally stepped out, and I realized it was the one I was looking for. Wind was blowing and the other deer was skittish, so it took a few minutes to get my gun raised and get the scope on him. I shot as he was approaching quartering to me at 75 yards. He went 30 yards and piled up!
