Hunt Story
Arrived in stand before light, several deer moving around although unable to see. At about 7:30 a.m., a buck grunted approximately 100 yards in front of me in a thick hardwood stand. I immediately spotted a nice mature buck moving across a field in my direction about 180 yards away, although he appeared to have a broken right side of his rack. As he approached to 130 yards away, another mature buck stepped out and both started posturing aggressively, slowly circling each other. The larger buck slowly turned broadside, slightly quartering toward me. I shot him at about 125 yards, and he fell in his tracks.
