Hunt Story

I have been hunting with my grandpa ever since I was around 3 or 4. He always taught me a lot in life and hunting, but the one that always stuck was to be patient and wait for the big one. Aside from my first one and a few meat does. Throughout my 15 or so years of hunting I’ve only killed 3 deer. My first, a 6-point, and two does. My grandpa passed away last year in July due to ALS. Due to those circumstances I didn’t hunt very hard the 2017-18 season. My good friend took me to his place on the 28th of this season, and he told me when we got there that he had a good feeling that we’d get a big one. I was wearing one of my grandpa's camp hats that I had found days before this so I was hoping for good luck. And sure enough at 5:30 God blesses me with this beautiful buck at 250+ yards on a fire break, and I took the shot and found him 30-40 yards from where it shot him. I guess grandpa's hat was good luck after all.
