It was the second chance I had to hunt this year, I had seen a 2 small bucks and doe and yearling earlier. I got a glimpse of this buck chasing a doe about an hour earlier and it had a large branch tangled in its antlers. A small buck had came out about 100yds away and the 8ptr came out from a logging, walking towards the small buck which ran away pretty quickly. The branch was still in his antlers so I knew it was the same buck. I got my gun up, but the wind was to my back blowing directly at him, and he was staring right at me. He turned to walk away but stopped and turned broadside at about 125 yards, with a clear shot that I took. He ran off and I waited about 15 minutes and I called my 2 brothers in law while I waited. I went to the area that I had took the shot and found a great blood trail and found the buck about 30 yards away and I got my hand on the biggest buck I have ever seen in the woods. Thank God!
