Hunt Story

My stand was in a strip of woods between a cotton and peanut field. During the rut bucks will cruise this strip of woods checking the two fields looking for does. At about 0730, I saw him walking toward me, but he was in thick cover so I could not tell how big he was. He finally stepped into an opening and lifted his head to look toward the field behind me. I got a good look at his rack and realized he was a shooter buck. I shot him as he stepped into the next opening. He ran about 25 yards before he crashed. I waited about 15 or 20 minutes before I climbed down and walked over to where he was laying. We have a trail camera picture of this buck earlier in October and have seen him crossing into our land on a couple of different occasions.
