Hunt Story

I was in the tree by 6 a.m. (EST) and trying to cool off. Georgia hunting temperatures have been extremely HOT. I started to see deer around 645 a.m. moving and walking around my stand. There were a couple of 4-pointers and two spikes with what seemed to be very long horns. I would estimate them to be 6+ inches, which struck me as odd. I then waited till legal shooting light when I saw this untypical 10-pointer with two kickers on of the left and one on the right side of his rack. It came in straight at me, with the sun at my back it was just a matter of time. The crazy part here is he started to back up, I thought what the! I let him do his thing, then he came back in to my left, hidden behind a tree, and then luck would have it stuck his neck out and took two more steps, and then good night Irene. He ran about 75 yards after a double lung shot, and then the rest was work. I love his very NON-typical rack, thus the reason I shot him.
