Hunt Story
Quiet morning with no signs of deer. I looked up and saw a deer in thicket approximately 80 yards away. I could see long tines and made my shot immediately, and he dropped. I was in the same stand that I was in when I shot a 12-pointer on Nov. 11, 2005. I entered that 12-pointer in the Truck-Buck in 2005 but did not win for that week. In 2006, GON changed their scoring contest and split regions to "north and south" rather than "statewide." In 2006, GON published what the results would have been for the prior year, and I would have been entered in the Truck-Buck Shoot-Out had they changed the regions in 2005.
