Hunt Story
I've been seeing the buck almost daily on camera, but all pictures were nocturnal until the previous day. He came around the edge of a river bottom cruising while two younger bucks were feeding in the drain I was hunting at 5:00 p.m. My daughter and I had several close encounters with the buck this year, but they were all minutes before or after shooting light. He finally presented himself early enough to take. The deer only ran about 30 yards from the shot. I had pictures of the buck a year ago, but he was completely broken off at his base on the left side. That may explain all of the "stickers" on that side this year. He was definitely a mature buck, and I am very thankful.
