Hunt Story
Went into this food plot, to mostly take photos of deer. After some does and hogs (deer left when hogs showed up), then after hogs left the deer started coming back in, noticed all the deer watching one corner of the plot, especially the small 8-pointer in the plot. Then I laid eyes on him he came in along the edge so I checked him out with my binoculars then I said are you kidding me! I brought my 300 Blackout shooting 110 grain and I wasn’t sure on trying to take this massive deer with this gun. He was too far and he went back in the woods, so I thought no problem now I am good, about 10-15 minutes later he came back out. Still 160 yards out so windows down in my stand I will just take some pictures of him. Then he chased a doe across the back of the plot he was about 130 yards now, this was getting tempting, so I started to raise the window and of course a couple of does notice so they start walking my way the window is up and he is still to far, then he starts to head toward the does walking toward the blind. He is coming straight in, he gets about 60 yards and stops, he has noticed the window up then the doe blows he takes off and stops at about 120 yards, scope is on him so I take the shot, he falls, I am shaking, then he tries to get back up. Not today, I will empty my gun before he gets out of this plot. Anyway I put another in him and that was it he didn’t move again.
