Hunt Story
Came home from work and decided to sneak out to a close stand during intermittent showers. Got in stand around 4:40 p.m. Rain started to get harder, so I decided to stay and see what happened. A doe came out of thick planted pines to the food plot at 5:30. Suddenly, she bolted across the field and was gone! I was still trying to figure out if she winded me or if she was running from something else when his front end came out of the same trail. I am very picky and have passed up two mature bucks already this season. I looked at his mass, tine length, width and body size and decided to shoot. I had no idea what he was until we recovered him. He is my largest bodied buck to date at 245 pounds.
