Hunt Story
I had this buck and two other shooter bucks on camera this year. About every four to five days he and the others would show around 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.. Last year I had the same type of situation with another buck I harvested, which took me two days to harvest him once I figured out his routine. I decided I would hunt all day for three straight days to have a chance. I arrived one hour before the sun came up to get situated. I did not see a single deer all day. As I watched the sun dip behind the trees, I said to myself, well I still have two days left and I started to gather my gear and get ready to leave for the evening, as I was checking my light I heard a small grunt to my right so I put my light down and grabbed my gun. He stepped out of the hardwoods and stopped in my food plot to begin to eat. He took two to three bites and started to transition into the pines, and that is when I took the shot and after a little over 12 hours that day. I thanked God for once again blessing me for harvesting a nice mature buck for the season.
