Hunt Story

My dad (Dusty Greer) shot a big buck and recorded it in GON last week. He ended up seeing this deer on multiple occasions and passed on him because he had wanted me to get a shot at this nice buck. I had been hunting very hard and was starting to get discouraged because it always seemed like I was hunting the wrong place at the wrong time. The hunt had been unusually slow that day until I looked up and saw this buck 115 yards away standing in the woods behind the food plot eyeing the stand. I pulled my gun up quick, and as soon as he turned his head I recognized him from many previous trail-camera pictures. He took one more step, and I was able to make a nice shot through a narrow gap between pine trees. I am very blessed to have the opportunity of shooting this deer, and I couldn’t have done it without the help of my dad.
