Hunt Story
I have been trying to decide all summer and early fall if I was going to shoot this deer or not. I had a few bow hunts where he had come in after I left, and I just really wanted to see him in person. Sometimes it is hard to tell everything you need to off of trail camera pictures and videos alone. Admittedly, this buck (named Micky) wasn't my first choice on this property. There is another buck that is much larger that I have been chasing, and I just can't get the timing right with him. Anyway, October 24 was a warm evening, but I had a lot of action. This buck came out super early. I watched him for 45 minutes waiting to see if the bigger buck would come out. He never did, and I always say that if I look through the scope at a buck and I get nervous and my heart starts beating fast, I am going to shoot him. Thats exactly what happened with daylight running out quick. I shot him perfect, and spent a little while finding him because he didn't bleed too much. He also went in a completely different direction than any deer I have ever shot on that property goes. He is the second biggest deer I have ever taken by body size. Anytime we can take a buck off of our property, it is a blessing. The video will be live on our youtube channel Out There Outdoors very soon. Thank you.
