Hunt Story
I have been hunting hard this season putting together a YouTube hunting channel. I had previously seen this buck 3 different times. I once videoed him for around 30 minutes, and had him at 24 yards with a bow. I chose not to shoot him because I had a couple of bigger bucks on camera.I usually only hunt with my bow all year, but I had surgery and am not supposed to draw my bow buck for a couple more weeks. My 7-year-old son Charlie has gone with me a few times this year already, and he was with me on the evening of October 26. This sit was actually a very frustrating sit, and we didn't expect to see anything because the property behind us had a lot of heavy equipment being hauled out most of the time we hunted. They finally stopped hauling at around 6:45, and it got really quiet and still. At around 7:07 this buck, that we named Lucky back in June, walked out. When we saw him, Charlie knew that he wanted us to shoot him. I videoed him for about a minute and a half until he stopped, and when he did I shot and he dropped right there. It was an awesome evening with my son, and I am so thankful that he was with me. The regret I had for letting this buck walk with a bow a couple of weeks prior was gone because it was way more special to have my son with me.
