Hunt Story
My stand was located on the edge of a clearcut and mature hardwoods. I used my climber deer stand to get high enough to see in the undergrowth of the clearcut. As it became daylight, I could hear deer feeding in the hardwoods. I first saw a doe, and then at around 7:45 I saw my buck trailing behind the doe, but he soon left the does and headed to the clearcut. I had no shot until I could fully judge his size, and he made his way into the clearcut. Once he stepped into my shooting lane, I could tell he was a shooter, so I took a quick 75-yard shot and he dropped in his tracks.
