Hunt Story

I had some history with this buck we called "Blade". He moved all around this tract of land and two other pieces we have nearby. He had been a night time mover all last season. This year was the first time in a couple years Blade started making a few daylight mistakes. This hunt was a quick change of plans on a gut feeling. I jumped into the tent at like 4o'clock as we were coming off a major weather change. I had been at full draw on this buck less than a week ago and had to let off as he didn't make my shooting lane until it got passed legal shooting light. I knew this was a monster deer and my time would be limited to harvest him. Sunday as I was sitting in my tent set to go with the Ozonic running on boost mode. 5 o'clock several doe arrived on my right side. They came in to around 15 yards feeding nervously around. Soon after one looked to my left, and I see a giant G2 and G3 out of my left window. My heart pounded as I knew it was my chance at Blade. He was moving in with a coupe other bucks. I quickly got my composure. I already had the doe nervous, so as he was quartering away I quickly drew my bow steady in the pocket and let her fly. Smoked him! Luminock shining as a stopped just over the hill to take his last breath Blade only cleared about 60 yards. The Freak Nasty broadhead did work on my second giant Washington County bow buck of 2017. What a great season with over 275 gross inches taken with my bow in Washington Co this year. #Blessed
