Hunt Story

I got in the stand about 4:30 the evening of September 30, 2022. A little after 6:00 pm had a 8 point come in and hit a licking branch on a scrape. Then about 7:00 I had two smaller bucks come in, one was nearly under me and while I couldn’t move trying not to get busted this 10 pointer came in making a rub and working the scrape the 8 point was at earlier. The wind was gusty and at times swirling making one of the smaller bucks nervous. The 10 pointer turned and was about to leave. It is pretty thick where he was but he paused at about 25 yards and I had a small window for the shot. The hit sounded good but didn’t have blood or arrow at the shot location. I back out and returned about an hour and a half later and with the help of a good friend was able to find him piled up about 75 yards down the hill.
