Hunt Story
On November 3rd about 5:30 PM, my husband and I went to our deer stands. Around 6:50 pm I had a doe come out and begin eating in my shooting lane. As I watched her I could see movement in the distance where in the past I have seen many does. I looked through my binoculars and could tell it was a buck. Immediately I got my gun in position and kept an eye on the deer as he kept coming toward me walking along the woods line. As he got closer it became evident that he was a big deer. The doe moved from where she was eating to the other side of the shooting lane. The buck continued to come closer and ended up at the same spot as where the doe was when she first came out, he started eating. He was standing facing me, and I watched him for what seemed like an eternity. He ate while I took deep breaths and told myself to wait for him to turn. I took my safety off, and when he turned to look at the doe, I fired. He went into the woods, and I stayed in my stand for several minutes waiting to see if he crossed the shooting lanes on either side of the block of woods. Then I went down to where he had been eating and didn't see any blood. I walked into the woods and found two drops of blood, as I continued into the woods I started seeing more blood. At one time I could hear what I believe was him flouncing around in the bushes. I backed up and waited for my husband to get there and we tracked the deer. It was no time and we had found him. This will be a day I will never forget.
