Hunt Story

Third time's a charm. This was the third afternoon of the season I hunted him. I saw him opening afternoon. He came into 13 yards, but I was unable to get a shot on him. The next day my son asked if he could go with me, and of course I said yes. We climbed up in the tree about 3:45 p.m. And at around 7:25 p.m. he says "I see him." We sat there on edge for what seemed like an eternity, but was really only a couple minutes. Then he walked right under my son and goes to the same 13 yard spot as the day before. He didn't like something again and turns and leaves. The next two days at work all I could think about was him and those two encounters. Then Wednesday is church day. I could hardly wait until Thursday afternoon. And around 3:45 p.m. I was back in the tree. And at around 7:25 p.m. he stepped out of the woods. This time he took a little different route to the feeder. He fed for about 10 minutes before giving me a great 20 yard quartering away shot. Thank the good Lord I was able to get to full draw and steady my pin and make a great shot. He ran about 250 yards and piled up in the creek. To God Be The Glory.
